All About Mrs. Roper!
I grew up in sunny Bradenton, Florida, and after completing an internship at the Smithsonian, I decided that I wanted to live in the Maryland area. During my early years of teaching, I became certified in Biology and have 13 years of experience teaching in Anne Arundel County Public Schools. I have 8 years of middle school experience and 5 years of teaching high school. I have taught at MacArthur Middle School, Old Mill Middle School North, and Glen Burnie High School, and I'm very pleased to be returning for my fifth year at Immaculate Heart of Mary School!
To give you an idea of what a typical day in science class looks like, we always start with a drill. Then, we transition into an activity, research, or experiment. I feel strongly that science should be taught hands-on and that students 'learn by doing'.
If you would like more information on classroom procedures and/or expectations, homework and homework help, or would like to see pictures of your child in action, please visit my Weebly page often. Also, please don't hesitate to e-mail me if you have any questions.
